Description

PhotoLog provides a secure platform for storing and managing personal media with a strong emphasis on user privacy through client-side encryption. This ensures that encryption keys never leave the user's device, making media inaccessible to anyone else, including PhotoLog staff, without the specific decryption key. Users can organize photos and videos into albums, each potentially secured with a different password.

The service facilitates easy sharing of media files and albums with features like one-click sharing, time-based access links, and granular access control, making it suitable for personal use, families, couples, and events. Additionally, PhotoLog allows users to create a simple mini-website to showcase digital assets or share links, complete with view tracking and Google Analytics integration. Users can choose between PhotoLog-managed storage or integrating their own S3-compatible storage provider for greater control and potential cost savings.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does the client-side encryption work?

All your data is encrypted and decrypted on your device using AES 256 encryption algorithm. The key is never sent to PhotoLog servers, so only you can view your uploads unless you share the encryption password. Each album can have a different password. Losing the password means losing access to the data, as PhotoLog cannot recover it.

How anonymous is PhotoLog?

A valid email and billing information (via Stripe) are required. However, client-side encryption makes media inaccessible to others, including PhotoLog staff. For 100% anonymity, payment via cryptocurrency can be arranged by contacting support.

What do you do with my media files?

Absolutely nothing. Your media is yours and yours alone.

What kind of media files do you support?

Currently supported: Photos (jpg, jpeg, png), Videos (mp4, ogg, webm; rm/ram require download), RAWs (tif, cr2, nef, x3f, dng; thumbnail view online, download for full quality).

Do you sell or do anything with the data I upload?

NO! The data you upload is yours only. Glitch Media owns 100% of the platform and does not sell user data.
